Scope of this Standard
This National Standard specifies the technical requirements and methods of test for vacuum or gas-filled tungsten filament lamps used for domestic or general lighting purposes. This standard applies to tungsten filament lamps with the following characteristics: a) a rated wattage of 25 to 500 watts inclusive; b) a rated voltage of 100 to 277 volts inclusive; c) bulbs with clear, coloured, white, internally frosted or equivalently coated finishes; d) glass bulbs of the standard pear shape; and e) B22d/25x26 bayonet caps or E26/24, E27/27 and E40/45 screw caps. This standard does not apply to fluorescent lamps.
